New ‘Terror Factory’ In Pak’s Abbottabad, Where Bin Laden Had Base: Sources
Reports have surfaced about a recently discovered terrorist training facility following a series of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir in recent days, notably the assault on an Army vehicle in the Baramulla district on Thursday night.
New Delhi:
A joint training camp has reportedly been established in Pakistan’s Abbottabad, allegedly by three banned terrorist groups – Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Sources within the intelligence community revealed this information to NDTV on Friday, emphasizing that the camp is located on a property linked to the Pakistani Army.
According to sources, the camp is deemed as ‘entirely secure’ due to its proximity to a Pakistani Army facility, significantly restricting unauthorized individuals from accessing terrorist training activities without military consent.
Overseeing the training of young individuals in various combat skills, including weapon handling, at the camp is an unidentified General assigned to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
In May 2011, a United States special forces military unit targeted a walled compound in Abbottabad, where former al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden resided and ran a safe house. Bin Laden was fatally shot during the operation, and Pakistan demolished the structure in 2012.
Listed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as the top three most-wanted terrorists are all of them.
The latest camp is believed to function as a recruitment hub for the three groups.
Following a series of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, including an assault on an Army vehicle in Baramulla district on Thursday night, reports emerge about the establishment of a new training center for extremists.
The attack resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and two civilians, with three additional individuals sustaining injuries.
In Ganderbal, a migrant laborer hailing from Uttar Pradesh was shot and wounded hours ago, while just three days prior, a tragic incident unfolded where six construction workers and a doctor were fatally shot in the same area.
The recent attack on civilians has been deemed one of the most severe in recent months, leading Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who was recently elected, to strongly condemn the “despicable and cowardly” assault on innocent individuals.
Following a series of raids spanning various districts in J&K, the newly-established terror organization known as Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim was disbanded just one day after the attack.
