J&K Police counter-intelligence team conducts raids to dismantle new militant outfit
A Pakistani terrorist handler is reportedly in charge of the newly formed group, suspected to have ties to LeT, as per the officials’ statement.
According to officials, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted numerous raids in various districts of the valley with the aim of disrupting a newly emerged militant group suspected to have ties to the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
According to reports, a significant operation was undertaken by the CIK, with raids spanning various districts such as Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama.
A recruitment module belonging to a recently established terrorist group was dismantled during the operation, officials reported.
The authorities reported that a recently formed faction, suspected to be linked to LeT, appeared to be under the command of a Pakistani terrorist coordinator identified by the alias ‘Baba Hamas’.
They mentioned that the raids are ongoing and more information is expected to follow.
