Sony unveiled its most powerful gaming console – PS5 Pro– in September, earlier this  year and has now launched in select markets. However, Sony India has confirmed that the PS5 Pro won’t be launching in India due to some some hardware that the console comes equipped with.

Sony’s statement on why console won’t come to India

In an statement shared with Moneycontrol, Sony India has mentioned that “PS5 Pro will not be available in some countries (which presently includes India) where 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) has not yet been allowed.”

Sony PS5 Pro: Features

PS5 Pro brings a significant upgrade with a GPU featuring 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 model and 28% faster memory. This enhancement allows for up to 45% faster rendering, delivering a noticeably smoother gaming experience.

New ray tracing technology improves dynamic light reflection and refraction, with rays cast at speeds up to double or even triple that of the current PS5 console, enriching visuals in supported games.

The console comes with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-based upscaling feature that leverages machine learning to deliver super-sharp image clarity and adds substantial detail to in-game visuals.
